Signs ENFJ Personality Type 1

ENFJ is the four-letter code of the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator. The ENFJ (The Teacher) personality type involves the traits Extraverted (E), iNtuitive (N), Feeling (F), and Judging (J).

People who have the ENFJ personality type are idealistic and organized, and who are always looking to do what is beneficial for humanity. ENFJs always emphasize growth and have the ability to correctly understand the potential of others.

What does ENFJ mean?

Anyone with this personality type tends to feel the happiest when they mingle with other people (Extraverted), stress on concepts and ideas rather than details and facts (iNtuitive), base their decisions on values and feelings (Feeling), are organized, and like to plan everything beforehand, rather than being flexible and spontaneous (Judging).

ENFJs are known as The Teacher because of their inherent interest in helping others prosper, grow, and make full use of their potential.

10 Signs You Are An ENFJ Personality Type

1. Open-minded and tolerant.

ENFJs are never imposing of their opinions and decisions over other people. They are open-minded and tolerant enough to realize that not everyone has the same opinions and viewpoints, and respecting that is important. No matter how much they might believe in something, they never force their beliefs on someone.

The ENFJ personality type is always open and receptive to what the other person has to say, even if it means they might have to change their mind. They are mature enough to realize that they might not always have all the answers, and that itโ€™s okay to accept constructive criticism, and educative information.

Now if there are two things that ENFJs are really good at, then itโ€™s being charming and popular. They have this innate ability to gauge just how to capture and enthrall an audience without making them feel bored, and accurately understand their motivation and mood to further communicate with them with passion, sincerity, energy, and emotion.

ENFJs are masters when it comes shifting their attitudes and mannerisms to match that of the audience, and they never miss a mark while doing that. But at the same time, they know how to maintain their individuality. No wonder, they turn out to be amazing orators.

3. Mature and reliable.

You can always count on an ENFJ to get things done in the right way, and at the right time, especially if they have given you their word. Giving someone their word, and then letting them down is something that horrifies them, and they try their level best to never let that happen.

No matter how hard the situation might be, or challenging the task is, they will always give their best, and follow through with their promises. Their maturity and reliable nature make them an asset to every team.

4. Naรฏve and too selfless.

Sometimes their good things turn out to be their bane. Even though their selfless and innocent nature is something they should be proud of, too much of it ends up creating more problems for them. They are always so eager in helping other people with their difficulties, that they tend to forget their own needs and desires.

This leads to many toxic people exploiting their innocence, and good-natured personality. This is one of the reasons why ENFJs more often than not, end up attracting narcissists and toxic people to them.

5. Excessively idealistic and impractical.

Idealism is in every ENFJโ€™s blood, and it is what almost all their values and morals are based on. So, you can imagine how they feel when they realize that not everything happens on the basis of idealism. Their overly idealistic nature sometimes makes them clash with people who might not have the same mindset.

However, they never attack anyone because of that, and instead of being angry, they take pity on their opponents. Their heavily impractical nature just adds to their naivetรฉ, opening them up to the possibility of getting duped and manipulated, time and time again.

6. Compassionate and kind.

The ENFJ personality type always wants to do good for others, and more than that wants to impart happiness as much as they can. Their warm and kind-hearted nature is one of their biggest virtues and is one of the things that make others respect them a lot.

You will never see an ENFJ try to dupe, sabotage or manipulate someone for their own selfish needs. Doing good for others, and spreading positivity is what they do best.

7. Low self-esteem and insecure.

ENFJs are always very hard on themselves, and they base their value and integrity on how well they are able to stick to their ideals. They are so self-critical, that they end up asking for criticism from others, and thatโ€™s not because they want to improve themselves, but mainly because of their overwhelming insecurity.

If they donโ€™t succeed in something and donโ€™t reach their full potential, their self-confidence and self-worth fall to an all-time low. Everything they do is always directly linked with their self-esteem and confidence.

8. Grapple with hard decisions and indecisive.

One of the things that ENFJs are really bad at is making and dealing with tough decisions. They are indecisive beings who when confronted with major decisions tend to get all flustered, intimidated, and confused. They also overthink a lot, about all the different possibilities and solutions for each and every choice.

One moment they might choose to do one thing, and the very next moment they have changed their mind and want to do something else. It is only when they take the advice of other people, that they get some clarity and confidence about making major decisions.

9. Persuasive and influential.

ENFJs have amazing persuasion skills, and when they really, really want to convince you to do something, you will end up doing it. But they never use their skills to exploit or manipulate someone for their own selfish needs; most of the time they fall back on their persuasion skills for positive and charitable reasons only.

All they want is for people to take part in good things, and work towards making a positive change. ENFJs are friendly and likable people as it is, so that is just the icing on the cake, as these two qualities further motivate people to follow them and trust in their vision.

10. Bad with criticism and overly sensitive.

ENFJs can be very bad with criticism and tend to take everything personally. Even if itโ€™s constructive criticism, and thereโ€™s a lot of care and concern behind that, they end up taking everything to heart. They do care about what others think about them, and when they are criticized, they see it as a personal failure and are very hard on themselves.

Their overly sensitive nature makes them take every little thing seriously, and this ends up hurting them, even when someone is not trying to hurt them. Once they are able to differentiate between harsh criticism and constructive criticism, they will gradually learn to value the words of advice they get from their loved ones.

Best Career Paths For ENFJ Personality Type

ENFJs are good with leadership roles and actively look for roles that involve that because they are really talented when it comes to organizing people based on their own, individual talents. They are creative people who are very good at making imaginative and innovative plans according to their vision, which predominantly focuses on humanitarianism.

The best kind of work environment is one that is people-oriented, open-minded, and forward-thinking. Teamwork matters to them a lot, and once they have a good and coordinated team, nothing can stop them from making their goals a reality.
