When you love yourself, you feel better and at your best, and when you feel your best, you are able to give back more to the world. Loving yourself is more than putting on a face mask or working out, it is something that happens inside you which can change your life for the better.

โ€œBe you, love you. All ways, always.โ€โ€• Alexandra Elle

Empowering yourself to spend your life finding your purpose and staying focused on it and getting rid of all the toxicity, is going to truly transform you and your life. Itโ€™s all about inner peace, the mind, and the soul. You do not need to undergo some training programs to attain peace of mind. If you want to live a life you have always dreamed about, then you need to love yourself everyday.

Self-love is very crucial when it comes to living a happy and full life, and the more you focus on it, the better your life gets with every passing day. Self-love helps you to set the right goals for yourself, how you allow others to treat you, and how you perceive and react to challenging situations. It also helps you to understand and love your body better, manage pressure and stress the right away, and your capacity to live your life according to your beliefs and values.

Here Are 10 Small Things You Can Do Every Day to Really Love Yourself

1. Practice gratitude every day.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. The people on the other side might be feeling the same about your lawn as well. You never know. What you have, not a lot of people might have, and chances are they might also crave for it. So everyone has something that others donโ€™t. Be grateful for everything life has blessed you with, and work towards building a happy and content life. Life is about living, not just existing.

Practicing gratitude everyday will give you a fresh and positive perspective towards life, and once you see life as it is and how lucky you truly are, your life will change.

2. Connect with others.

Practice social wellness, where you connect with people around you. Connecting with people will help you foster and develop authentic and positive relationships in your life. Socializing with the right kind of people can add to your life immensely, and teach you so many new things about yourself that you might not have known before.

There is so much to learn from life, people and their vast life experiences. The more you connect with the right kind of people, the more self-love you will be able to show in your social life. Pay a visit to your neighbor, catch up with your friends, talk to inspiring and positive people, and cuddle with your significant other. There is so much you can do.

3. Get in touch with your spiritual side.

By focusing on your inherent spirituality, you will be able to work towards implementing peace, harmony, and balance in your life. Self-love has got a lot to do with having peace of mind, and a calm soul and spirituality can help you do exactly that. Try to meditate for 10-15 minutes every day, say a silent prayer before going to bed, or look for the opportunities to grow and prosper in life.

Spending time in nature, and trying to do good for others without expecting anything return can also help you get in touch with your spiritual side. Spirituality is horribly underrated in todayโ€™s chaotic world, but itโ€™s something that is desperately needed too.

4. Do what you love.

In your busy day-to-day life, sometimes you might forget to make time for what you actually enjoy and love doing. Something that gives you immense joy. It might be reading, painting, exercising, or simply anything that you like to do but donโ€™t always find the time for. Yes, being successful and financially independent is important, but that should not be the only aim in life.

Doing things you love not only makes you realize what your talents are but, it also gives you mental peace and happiness. You have something to come home to and look forward to at the end of a hectic and tough day at work. If you want to truly love yourself, invest time doing what you love.

5. Sleep well and sleep enough.

We all understand itโ€™s easy to say it but, not always easy to execute it. But one can always try. Good, proper sleep is non-negotiable, and if you compromise on sleep, it can take a heavy toll on your physical and mental health. When you sleep, you are basically rebooting and energizing yourself to take on the next day in full force.

So when you donโ€™t give your body that rest, it cannot function properly. You can start off my not scrolling through social media two hours before you go to sleep, and instead read a book. Try to avoid coffee before bedtime and make sure that you have a comfortable bed and pillows to sleep on.

6. Take good care of your body.

You have only one body, so might as well take good care of it because if you lose this one, you arenโ€™t getting another. When you focus on your physical wellness, you are working towards having a healthy quality of life. When you make efforts to take good care of your body and live a healthy life, you are respecting yourself and loving yourself.

Eat healthy, nutritious food. Work out 4-5 times a week. Go on walks. Donโ€™t always focus on your flaws, love your body for how it is. Let go of any bad or toxic habits such as smoking, drinking, excessive junk food etc. Go for regular medical check-ups. These are just some of the things you can do to take better care of yourself and ensure your wellness in the long run.

7. Intellectually stimulate yourself.

When you stimulate yourself intellectually, you are broadening your knowledge by feeding your brain with more interesting things. Knowledge is infinite and unending and the more you learn, the smarter and open-minded you will be. Intellectual stimulation is one of the best ways to love yourself, and the more you do it, the better you feel about yourself and the smarter you get.

Try to read at least a few pages of a book daily. Try to learn as much as you can. Take classes to things that can help you immensely in life. Find the courage in yourself to try out new things. Donโ€™t be stuck in your comfort zone, and get out of it at times. The more you enrich your brain, the better it will serve you.

8. Spend time with friends.

Not everyone has to be an extrovert who parties it up every day. But humans do need company and proximity. Whether you admit it or not, we do need people around us. You may be an introvert or may hate social gatherings but, you need to be around other humans in order to feel like one. You donโ€™t have to be surrounded by a ton of people, a few good friends are enough.

Make it a point to stay in touch with them, and meet up with them often. This will help you maintain good friendships, and also make sure that you never feel isolated or alone. Alone time is an amazing thing, but too much of anything is not.

9. Let go of excessive overthinking.

Overthinking is the bane of everyoneโ€™s existence. The more you think about all the bad things that might happen, the more you lose precious time, and not to forget you drive yourself crazy with all the what-ifs. If you want to genuinely and truly live a happy life and love yourself, then you need to let go of overthinking.

Focus on the present. Focus on what is actually happening, and not what MIGHT happen. Living in the present will allow you to live your life to the fullest and also stop you from being too hard in yourself.

10. Smile. Smile. Smile.

Erase that frown from your forehead and deepen your smile lines. Did you know that what you think is what you make yourself think? The more you dwell on the negative things, the sadder and dejected you will feel. The more you focus on the good and positive things, the more elated and optimistic you will feel.

So when you smile and smile and smile, your body and your mind takes it as a happy sign and your mood lifts instantly. Call it science! Simply smiling is such a powerful way to show love and respect towards yourself. Itโ€™s all about thinking positive and eliminating negative aspects from your life. Be it a commodity or a person.

Love yourself as much as you can, and never ever compromise on the kind of person you are. Be your authentic self, and be with people who care about you and love you. Life is too short to not love yourself and be happy!
