Why Solitude Is Actually Good For You 2

Contrary to what most people think, believe, and advocate, solitude is actually good, and healthy for your mind, body, and soul.

โ€œPeople empty me. I haveย to get away to refill.โ€ โ€“ Charles Bukowski

When you see someone sipping their coffee alone in a cafรฉ or someone pondering over their life in the bar with his drink or someone traveling alone, you judge them as loners or if youโ€™re the one who does these things then youโ€™re judged for being a loner and not having friends to do these things with.

Solitude is not only underrated but it is still considered as a stigma.

As if doing things alone is a sign of lowliness and I donโ€™t understand why!?

Itโ€™s totally okay to love solitude, itโ€™s okay to like doing things on your own.

Solitude Is Actually Good

When the society sees you doing things on your own and spending time alone they mistake you for being lonely and depressed and they think you need help.

It is understandable, over the centuries we humans have learned to be there together, sharing lives and this has been established as a norm. When one sees you standing out of the box then they naturally question why you do what you do.

Spending time alone doesnโ€™t drain you but it recharges you.

Yes, you need some โ€˜me timeโ€™ to analyze whatโ€™s going in your life and ponder over the decisions you make, formulate some changes and lay the steps ahead. These things take you closer to being self-sufficient and believe me this is the best gift you can give to yourself. No one deserves your time more than you do.

Solitude and loneliness are two different things. When one is content with self and loves himself enough, the company is just a matter of choice.

We donโ€™t need a company to validate our existence. Yes, friends are cool and fun but so is solitude. After all, no one understands you better than you do.

Aloneness also gives you time to understand yourself better.

When you spend time alone you know your likes and dislikes, you know your flaws and also work on correcting them; you will learn to love yourself and when you can do this you can love others better. There will be comparatively fewer problems in your relationships. You will be so content with yourself that you will not need others validation to love your life. You wonโ€™t limit yourself or feel sad about the number of followers or likes you get.

Solitude Is Actually Good

Solitude heals your soul, which was bruised by people in the first place.

Your solitude makes other people uncomfortable while youโ€™re completely comfortable; donโ€™t ask me why itโ€™s above my pay grade to even know the answers.

So folks donโ€™t hold yourselves. Fear no judgments remember people will you judge you no matter what you do. Take yourself for the coffee or the movie all alone. Itโ€™s okay to go in the park alone. Itโ€™s okay to travel alone. Itโ€™s okay to treat yourself.

Give your soul that โ€˜Me Timeโ€™ it craves for.
